Stone House with Vineyard and Views

The original stone house was a farmers house built around 1850 which underwent a complete restauration and renovation after the current owners bought it in 2010. The house was enlarged and refined and a new roof, doors and windows were fitted, plus all plumbing and electrics changed. The house has tiles with underfloor heating on the ground floor and parquet and heating by radiators on the first floor. They have in addition to the traditional heating fitted a heat pump in the kitchen area, which can be used when the other heating is not switched on.

The swimming pool, 6 x 12 m salt water, was built a the same time as the renovation took place.

You enter the house by the hallway where you find the staircase to the first floor. Under the staircase is small storage room used as a wine cellar. From the hallway you walk into the large and characterful living room with its vaulted brick ceilings and open plan kitchen with dining area. A modern double aspect wood burning fire place is installed between the living room and the kitchen/dining area serving both areas at the same time. The kitchen is in a modern rustic style and from here you enter onto the covered portico overlooking the pool and garden.

Further on the ground floor is a double bedroom with great views of the village of Bubbio, a bathroom with washing machine and a large storage room.

On the first floor there are 3 double bedrooms with amazing views plus one bathroom. A terrace door opens out from the first floor hallway onto the “morning sun” terrace at the back of the building. A quiet and lovely spot to start the day, maybe with some gentle yoga exercises?

The covered terrace outside the kitchen is the perfect place for al fresco eating and it is the family’s preferred spot all day long. Next to the covered terrace is an original stone pizza oven with an outdoor kitchen area and sink in Langhe stone. No wonder this is their favourite place to hang out.

You are seated in the shade, next to the pool and the pool terrace with great views of the village and vineyard below the garden. The pool area and garden is surrounded with fruit trees, roses and flower bushes and gives totally privacy.

On the north side of the house is a storage garage plus an orchard with different fruit trees and flowers.

The property has its own small vineyard planted with Barbera grapes which today is tended by the owner himself.

The house is in a position less than 2 km north-east of Bubbio with a fantastic view over the village and the valley around. The property has sun all day long, in the summertime you get it around 7:30 at the morning terrace at the back of the house and you enjoy the sunset from the terrace by the pool around 20:45 in the evening.
